want to do more of these things in my life:
1. Recycle, Reduce, Reuse.
2. Compost.
3. Grow an edible/medicinal landscape = more basil and beans, less grass.
4. Buy local, organic and fair trade.
5. Use alternative energy.
6. Get to know neighbors, share.

So it has been a while since I had a chance to post but I am happy to say that since I posted last I have been doing more of those items I last spoke about. I just wanted to make a few notes. I have managed to do some of the things I set out to do. 

1. In regards to Recycle, Reduce, Reuse; I have been using more and more recycled and natural supplies in my art work. Also I have been washing out all the glass jars that I use and keep them as cups/bead storage/ flower vases.  
Little things like using old egg crates for painting, Cereal boxes for scrapbook (thanks JennyBelly), keeping my other art journal on hand when I paint so that I can use the extra paint and not let it go to waist.
Reduce the amount of water Sean and I use by showering together, getting rid of the hot water, and the heat for that matter! Lot's of blankets at the moment. 


3. Grow an edible/medicinal landscape; Already planing out the spring garden- I would garden in the apt but the cats destroy it. 

4. Buy local, organic and fair trade; I always by locally when I can or by fair trade products that benefit   the needy or that donate to wounded warrior project. I <3 my farmers market!

6. Get to know neighbors, share; This is a big one, share anything from rides to food to clothing... you name it!

It Has been to long since I updated

So I thought it had been to long since I updated, so I am taking the opportunity now to do it :) 

Oh! Before I forget I wanted to post the Fairy Garden pictures from a while back- Sean and I went there at night a few weeks ago it was wonderful... well until it started to rain as we were leaving! 

We are going back there tonight- it's wonderful out, and I have a few things I wanted to gift to there :) These are the pictures from the other night.

an idea for the future that is in all honesty a good one and an old one... I like a sytem of trade 


Now I am not quite as exstream as some on this- but to be honest I want to be self sustainning and I would rather work on a stytem of trade and local busnesses.

I got the coolest package in the entire world today, from the talented Jennibellie! link to her blog  I need to e-mail her a thank you note and writer her a letter, but first I just had to post about it all!

I also give a 5 star rating on her Zine, link to Creative Juice  I Etst page to buy it! For real everyone who is into Zines this is a good one! 

At present I am working on a new package for her- she is so creative and the little details are so amazing. I wish I had her talent. I am already working on a 2^nd package to send her- not to mention toughing in a few gifts. Her package was SO amazing.

I am really getting into this packet trades- especially over sea’s. I am working on one for my good friend Kathleen and for Jennibellie! As well as a kit for my friend Danny.

On that note is anyone interested in trading or making a Zine together or as a group?

As for the store we are doing well! Almost done- getting it show room ready. I am thinking this weekend will be our “yard” sale.

Etsy stuff and happy moments

I am excited! I reached a women who’s Zine I saw on Etsy that I now KNOW I am going to by! She and I are going to exchange art/smash/ect packets with one another! I am so excited! I am working on putting one together for her as we speak.

I have a lot more good news- I got a cpl Etsy purchases so I am excited AND I have even more to post on my/our shop!

the new handmade dress

The new handmade Dress... I just had to post a few pictures

* wanted to include this a friend brought it to my attention I did not make this!! Wildskin on Etsy made this amazing dress.

 

Ok I am digging the dress, the Raid Our Apartment sale is going ok for now- I had a canselation at 7pm, but I should have another sale at 9:30 and I am hoping that it will go smoothly. I have been working at the new busness for a while now, and it's going alright. I just wish that there was a better way to get the word out. A new life path- Sean is right with me on this. Kathleen has been great too!

I did get to do a video and voice Chat with Miriam today!!!! It was AMAZING, I can't wait to see her!

Febuary 2012

Welcome to Febuary 2012- I LOVE my friends, my life, my Sean, my pets, my family. The only thing that makes me sad in days of such joy are the worry I have for my loved ones in harms way- the sinlence that screams and the sleepless nights I have found myself praying for a man, for a fighting force- waitting on a war to end.

Sleep over at the Sun Stone apt 19

Sean is asleep in the bed next to me, Alauna is asleep on the airmattress, Hanse is asleep on the couch. I haven't slept a wink, It's 4 minutes to 8:00am. I regreat that I am going to need to wake up 1/2 the house soon- I have a Dr.'s apointment at 10:30 today- then CVS.

It is great to see friend but I could do with some sleep- It seems to late for that right now. I guess I am going to load the rest of the dishwasher, get a cup of coffee, I put another round of laungery into the wash. Then a stiff cup of coffee- Make a cup of tea for Alauna and some toast and fruit. A fresh pot of coffee on for me, Sean, Hanse but Sean is sleeping in.

8:10am- Now I think I should set the dishwasher off... get some coffee. Ok Dishwasher set off and I got a fresh cup of coffee for myself. Ok... I should get ready and think to maybe get my friend ready and let her know the options for today. I did want to post up more of my art. I will put in a sencond blog post after this one.  I hope to post more soon.

I will write more and spell check this blog post a bit latter.

a visit from a good friend

Seeing Alauna was so wonderful!! Nothing beats getting together with old friends. First Kathleen was visitting and that was wonderful, then Alauna last night and this morning, soon to see Kathleen and Kelly
Mirriam is also visting! It has been wonderful and still getting better.

Seeing Alauna was truly great not only is she a great friend but resenlty she went to Iran; long story short short she told me things about her trip as well as the people and culture that touched my heart. I got a whole new veiw of that country and a positive one at that.

I will write down more ideas latter that I have either seen or came up with myself. I did find a rocking art blog and contacted the artist hopping that I can pay him to draw a few things for me, I hope he isn't to pricey.

At last my 2012 Journal and some artwork

At long last! I made my first entery in the journal yesterday, I had been waitting till 2012 to start it. I did find however that I was unable to truly write anything of real substance. Not sure why, perhaps I can atribute it to new journal jitters. I also find I write more on my typewriter these days.

Damn handwriting still is not as artful as I would like. My right wrist still gives me trouble. The tremmors have become slightly less frequent but still I work at it. I have suffered seriouse injury to that wrist 3 times. Not to mention seeing that my right hand is my domanant hand; it's my shooting hand, and also when I fight that right wrist takes most of the contact abuse. Yet I am happy that it seems to be getting stronger day by day.

Though my handwriting still leaves something to be desired, I have taken up the habbit of writing block style and I dare say I can emulate other peoples handwriting very well. I have been practing fine moter skills by drawing more and also beading more. I am finding that my art has been desent boarder linning on good! I had taken up tracing art a few months ago to help steedy my hand but now I am back to drawing free hand :) Here are a few of my drawings although I do not trace my work I do look for artwork to either inspire or draw my own copy of.


I would enjoy feedback on them. I will need to post more a bit later in the day as well as spell check this post in a few hours. For now this will have to do, as I need to shower and get on with my days.
